How to Clean Glass Without Streaks
If you have ever tried to clean items like glass tables or windows, chances are you will have been left with streaks and dust still in place. And no matter how much you spray and wipe, it is almost impossible to leave a glass streak-free. However, it’s important to know that it is actually possible. Even better, the correct way will take you less time when it comes to window washing.
Try a Homemade Cleaner
You may find that most commercial glass cleaners will do the trick when it comes to cleaning. However, you can also use a more natural method if you don’t want to use chemicals in your home.
You can try making your own glass cleaner and keeping it in a spray bottle. All you need are two ingredients, which are distilled water and distilled white vinegar.
Distilled water is recommended, as hard water can cause streaks and grime to be left behind. Hard water has a build-up of dissolved minerals, including calcium and magnesium, which are the culprits when it comes to streaks being left behind.
Pairing the distilled water using a 50/50 ratio with white vinegar offers a non-toxic and antibacterial cleaner at a fraction of the price.
Toss the Paper Towels
Did you know paper towels can also contribute to grime being left over? The majority of paper towels leave lint behind, which is glaringly obvious on shiny surfaces, such as windows, mirrors, and glass-top tables. Why not try a microfiber cloth or a squeegee instead?
For a more affordable route, try using old newspapers or a clean t-shirt. Both of these materials will not leave lint behind, and you can put the t-shirt in the wash when you are finished. You will find, however, that newspapers do not hold up well to moisture for very long, so keep a pile next to you as you clean your windows or other glass surfaces.
